Friday Daylong Intensives

Start Off on the Right Foot - L-basing with Moonbeam & Micah

Low is for pro, L-basing drills will make strong foundations for a clean, safe, healthy, and sustainable practice when you go standing! Over the past few years, Moonbeam and Micah have done countless hours of drills and training in low-ceilinged living rooms. With the constraints of a small space, they have come up with so much material to show you to game-ify your drills, solidify your connection, grip and precision. We will take a deep and progressive dive to make your foot to hands and hand to hands feel as aligned and comfy as possible for the long road in your acro journey. Become an Accomplice for Equity: Practical Steps to Empower our Acro Spaces with Ilana & Sirus

This session will be geared toward those who already have some grounding in power dynamics, structural oppression (racism, classism, sexism, etc.), and allyship--those without that background are still welcome to participate, but should be aware that we'll be orienting our conversation with some assumed introductory knowledge. In this talk, you should expect not only to engage with the ways that we all reproduce societal power dynamics in our acro spaces (whether we intend to or not), but also to learn practical approaches for interrupting real-life oppressive situations interpersonally as well as structurally. This conversation will illuminate how unjust racial and economic systems also directly impacts those who benefit from white privilege, and how divesting from and working to dismantle these systems is a project we all benefit from--not only the most marginalized among us.
