I don't live in Colorado, how should I get there? If you plan to drive, make sure you check your route, if you are coming through a snowy pass there can occasionally be road closures. If you plan to fly, we recommend flying into the Denver International Airport (KDEN) and getting a rental car. The festival is not in Denver proper. There is a train from the airport which will get you to downtown Denver, but then you would need to Uber from there- which is about 20min North of Denver. Uber rides do add up! Renting a car is likely easier. When you are driving from the airport, select "avoid tolls" on your phone. There is a toll road near the airport that the road signs will try to steer you towards. Check out our getting here page for more information.

What is your COVID policy? The Colorado Acro fest will follow any applicate state and county guidance. We ask that you limit exposure to any situation with a higher chance of contracting COVID in the week leading up to the festival. If you test positive before the festival do not attend. COVID REFUND POLICY: In the case that a participant presents symptoms during the festival: Alert COAF organizers + your household immediately. You will be asked to discontinue festival participation, mask and quarantine from your roommates (if you have any) or head home.. If this happens, we will give you a pro-rated refund based on the number of complete days you could not attend. For example, if you test positive on or before Saturday morning, we will refund Saturday and Sunday. If you test positive after the first session on Saturday, we will refund for Saturday. IN CASE OF CANCELLATION: If we choose to cancel COAF due to a surge in COVID students will have the choice to either A.) Roll their ticket over to the next year or B.) Receive a refund minus a $20 admin fee.

How cold will it be and how are you defining cold? I grew up in Southern California and have no concept of seasons or weather. The historical average high and low temps in February is 49°F and 18°F. For our wonderful Californians- pack like you would going to Tahoe or Big Bear. There is a high chance that snow will be on the ground. The festival venue will be heated. You can wear normal Acro clothes inside you may need to get warmed up but once you do that short and a tank will be fine. For transiting bring a warm coat, pants and shoes that can handle snow. Check out our getting here page for more information about driving around the Denver area.

What are the food options near the festival location? This year we will have a food truck (with vegetarian options) during Sat/Sun lunch times and Saturday evening for dinner time. Wahoo!!!! There are not great restaurants nearby. There is a McDonalds and Starbucks walking distance from the festival location and various food options about a 10-minute drive in the town of Fredrick, CO. We recommend packing a lunch (sorry no microwave though at the facility). If you plan to eat out at lunch time, we recommend calling ahead for takeout so that you make it back in time for the afternoon sessions.

What is the deal with the clothing swap?Clothing swaps are a great way to give your old clothing a new home and keep used clothes out of the landfill. We don’t have time to lead a swap so there will be an area in the gym to you take and leave clothing. Please only bring work out and Acro clothing to swap and please help keep the clothing organized as you look through or contribute. Check out our clothing swap page for more information
-
What amenities are provided at the festival location?Bathrooms, water fountains and lockers are in the facility. Don’t count on microwaves to heat up your lunch, you might have to eat it cold. We also have a licensed medical professional to triage and help if you get injured.

I want to volunteer for the festival, how do I sign up to help?Check out our volunteer sign up page here to put your name in the hat. There are a handful of work share positions available that can result in a decreased ticket price. If you desire a discounted ticket, please be prepared to share a bit of information for us to help decide to give the positions to. If you want to help in an unofficial capacity just stick around at the end of each day to see where we need help. There will likely be an opportunity to help clean up or take out the trash. Even if you do not volunteer, please clean up after yourself to help make our festival enjoyable for all!

I am extremely talented and want to showcase my skillz. How do I grace the festival with my expertise at the talent show?Sign-ups will be taken during the day Saturday. Please aim to showcase your skillz in 3 minutes or less. If your act requires music, please either be able to supply a phone with an aux hook up or be able to send us the music on Spotify. A mic will be provided.

I have been training all year and am gunning to take down the reigning champion Whitney Stevenson in the handstand competition. What are the official rules for the competition?Best of luck as Whitney is a badass handstand queen. There will be amateur and semi-professional handstand divisions. (Amateur= free standing handstand holds under 1 minute) You many enter either division but beware of sand bagging your abilities! There is an opportunity for the festival goers to dispute the amateur entries. You may be booed off the amateur stage if the crowd feels your handstand abilities are too advanced. If you are booed off the amateur stage (like many last year), consider it a complement! Head over to our events page for the official rules and regulations for the different competitions at the Colorado Acro Fest.
