Official Rules

Handstand Competition:
The handstand competition has two divisions- Amature and Semi-Pro.
The Amature division will take place first. All those with a handstand hold under 1 minute may compete in the amature division. All teachers, past winners, hosts of the Acro Fest (who for some reason tried to compete as amatures last year...) and last year's armature winner must compete in the semi-pro division. The amature competition will start with a line up of competitors. The audience will have an opportunity to boo competitors off the amature stage and into the semi-pro division. If you are boo-ed off the amature stage (as many were last year) consider this a major complement. The host will give a 3 second count down to get established in your handstand then the clock will begin. Walking is allowed. If there is a stand off the host may ask competitors for different shapes in the handstand. The last acrobat (hand)standing is the winner.
The Semi-pro division: follows the same rules. The host will give a 3 second count down to get established in your handstand then the clock will begin. Walking is allowed. If there is a stand off the host may ask competitors for different shapes in the handstand. The last acrobat (hand)standing is the winner.
In both competitions we recommend snagging your own board if you fear interference. You may bring your own equipment, just boards no canes. We are not responsible for interference from others on your board.
Handstand Walking Competition: Just as simple as it sounds- walk on your hands as far as you can. You must be able to turn around. This is not a time competition but a distance one. The last person hand-standing may not be the winner.

Banned Substances

It is the Athletes’ personal duty to ensure that no Prohibited Substance enters their bodies. Athletes are responsible for any Prohibited Substance or its Metabolites or Markers found to be present in their Samples. Accordingly, it is not necessary that intent, Fault, Negligence or knowing Use on the Athlete’s part be demonstrated in order to establish an anti-doping rule violation under Article 2.1. Please see the official anti drug and doping standards here. Differing from the official Olympic standard the Colorado Acro Fest does not disqualify athletes for using non performance enhancing drugs.
